Lake Wine & Spirits

Needed to have a gift sent and delivered- Gary and Betty were amazing in helping me make this happen! Gary spoke with me about the bottles selection which assisted in me picking out the perfect gift. The experience reminded me of how small town businesses were when I was younger. Totally recommend Lake wine and liquor. Should I be in town, I ll definitely stop in! 5 stars!

I've been to this shop only a handful of times. I plan to go back more often.
Each time I've been there, I have purchased wines from Spain and Argentina. Once, I believe I bought Chilean wine, as well. They seem to have a nice selection of red wines.
I am quite impressed by their customer service. The staff go out of their way to be helpful, without being intrusive. The last two times, they have brought my purchase to my car and have done so willingly and with a smile. All the employees I've dealt with have been friendly and polite.
I look forward to my next visit.

I like going here because they have a great selection of wines and spirits. They are convenient because they are right next to the Planet Fitness I go to. They are also owned by the same people of another liquor store I frequent. The prices are reasonable and the layout is nice. I can almost always find what I'm looking for. They are also willing to order something if you don't see it. They have a small parking lot to the left or you can park in the lot on the right that H.H. Stone and Sons hardware and Planet Fitness share. The staff is always friendly and helpful with finding what you need.

More than the Average Liquor Store.
I usually review only restaurants. But we went in Lake Wine and Spirits today and I was so impressed with there selection I had to mention it. An excellent variety of spirits, wine and beer. They also have various cheeses to choose from to pair with a nice wine. A humidor of nice cigars to pair with a cognac or bourbon. Gift ideas like bottle openers and wine glass trinkets to identify your glass. A nice tasting area where the owner allowed me to taste a couple really nice tequilas. We live in Waterbury but I will make the short drive to Southbury to buy from this great store again and again.

Was was in the store today, and there was one maskless customer talking with another customer, and one maskless employee dusting shelves. This is unacceptable, and I will not return.

Used to think this was a nice store until I went in last Sunday and saw a customer with no mask violating the social distancing markers on the floor. When I complained to the clerk he told me they do not require masks. In fact the clerk pointed out that they do not have any signage outside or inside the store asking customers to wear masks or practice social distancing as required by the Governor's Executive Order. He seemed quite proud of that fact. I am 74 and have an underlying condition. They are willfully defying their responsibility to their neighbors in the community like me. If you are a senior living in Heritage Village or a parent concerned about your family stay away from this store. There are lots of other more responsible choices in Southbury. Shame on them

COVID! If you have an underlying condition or are over 60 and are concerned about your health avoid this store. None of the employees or owner wear a facial covering even when on the floor with customers.

This is my new spot! The father / son owners are great. This store has very fair pricing and they don't gouge you for rare to find items.

Even though it is a small store, they have at least a few different varieties of everything. The owner, Jeff, is extremely knowledgeable and very generous with his time. The rest of the sales team was friendly as well. Also, they have the lowest legal prices in CT.
