United Way of Greater Waterbury is a leader in facilitating the identification of regional needs and supporting solutions. We are working to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks for a good life - a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and ensuring our most basic needs are met. United Way is investing human and financial resources in these areas in order to create long lasting changes that will prevent problems from happening in the first place. Creating this change takes volunteer leadership, expertise, commitment, proven strategies and ambitious fundraising efforts.We all win when a child enters school ready to learn, a parent can provide for their family and our neighbors have enough to eat, a roof over their heads and access to adequate healthcare. Our ten-town service area includes Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott and Woodbury. In collaboration with the State of Connecticut, United Way supports 2-1-1, a 24-hour, 7-day a week toll-free number to dial for information and referral.
