Downtown Advocacy Organization Main Street Waterbury to Honor Three Community Leaders May14 During Community Partnership Awards and Annual Meeting WATERBURY—The downtown advocacy organization Main Street Waterbury will honor three community leaders on Wednesday, May 14 during their Community Partnership Awards and Annual Meeting event. During the event at the Mattatuck Museum, Dr. Fumiko Hoeft, Campus Dean & Chief Administrative Officer at UConn Waterbury will be honored with the Community Partnership Award; Susan Sprano, Board Chair of Main Street Waterbury, will receive the Advocate of the Year Award; and Heather Price, Director of Community Innovation at UConn Waterbury, will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award. The award recipients are being recognized for their commitment to Main Street Waterbury’s mission of advocating, educating, and collaborating for the revitalization and enhancement of downtown Waterbury. In 2012, Main Street Waterbury established the Stephen Sasala II Community Partnership Scholarship Award in memory of former Main Street Waterbury Board Chairman and Waterbury Regional Chamber President & CEO Stephen R. Sasala, who left behind a legacy as a partnership builder and community leader. The recipient of the Stephen R. Sasala II Community Partnership Scholarship will be announced shortly.
