I graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Bridgeport with a Masters of Science in Human Nutrition in 2018 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2012. I am currently certified by the state of Connecticut as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist, am a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist, a Certified LEAP Therapist and Certified Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach and am a newly Certified Integrative Sports Nutritionist.
The driving force behind my practice, Redeeming Life Nutrition, is a deep desire to help you achieve your long-term athletic and nutrition goals and get to the root of your problems. Through years as an athlete, avid foodie and fitness enthusiast, I faced numerous health issues that stemmed from disordered eating and autoimmunity. I went to doctor after doctor and I never got answers. Eventually, my condition worsened and required therapeutic nutritional and alternative interventions. I suffered from several disordered eating habits in my late teens and early 20s from being bullied as a child for my looks. I realize now that was the catalyst to all my health issues in 2006. At 19 I was bulimic. For most of my 20s I suffered from orthorexia trying to attain an image of perfection. This lead me to undergoing diet after diet. I was exhausted all the time, couldn’t think properly and was chronically sore. Eventually, it all backfired.
In 2015, I was diagnosed with Functional Hypothalamic Amenorrhea and Borderline Osteopenia. This is better known as the “female athlete triad,” a cascade of symptoms starting withe low energy intake and trickling down to impaired menstrual function and borderline osteopenia at age 27 from low estrogen levels significantly under fueling for my activities. As a typical athlete, I had been the classic “overexerciser and undereater.” I was always tired after my training sessions and I was truly “grinding myself into the ground.” I lost my athletic ability and it significantly impacted my relationships and quality of life. This was all from something that could have been prevented.
I am passionate about with young adult female athletes to break the chains of disordered eating by transforming their mindsets and beliefs around food, finding their true self, and empowering them to ignite their true athletic potential. I take a holistic and integrative approach to your health including mindset training, inner healing, lifestyle and exercise and implementing my nutritional recommendations.
